Tirana (Capital of Albania)
DAY ONE
Sitting on the tarmac to get off the plane, I remembered that six years previously Jessi said what I believe to be a prophetic word. She said, “Maybe you are to help build many businesses throughout the world.” As soon as she said those words I got chills and my eyes welled up, knowing that the Holy Spirit had laid this purpose on my heart.
Coming in from chilly Illinois in March and walking off the plane in Albania is enjoyable in this temperate climate. Sun is shining and it’s in the 70s. Driving through Tirana it feels like a mix of Spain and Ethiopia. Not the extreme poverty of Ethiopia, but the rundown buildings and rough manufacturing buildings through the town and countryside.
Talking with Enio, a local man who overseas OM’s Business As Missions course, the gravity of the economic situation overcomes me. How am I going to make any difference here?
We walk around town and Jessi reminds me to stop thinking like I have to have a plan. My role is to teach business principles and to consult. Help them in their pursuit of building business. I need to stop thinking that I need to fix everything. But I am ready for God to use me here.
I’m a Developer –a developer of businesses, a developer of people, a developer for the Kingdom.
